Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about Rankly.gg.
How do I install the mod?
Subscribe to the Rankly Stats mod on the Steam Workshop (ID: 3683623007). Add -servermod=@RanklyStats to your DayZ server launch parameters.
Copy the RanklyConfig.json file to your server's profiles directory and add your API key. Restart the server and events should start flowing within minutes.
Why aren't my stats showing?
Stats are computed asynchronously and may take a few minutes to appear after events are ingested. If stats still don't show after 10 minutes:
- Verify your API key is correct in
RanklyConfig.json - Check your DayZ server RPT logs for connection errors
- Ensure the mod is loaded (look for "RanklyStats" in server startup logs)
- Confirm your server can reach
https://rankly.gg/api/ingest
Can I use Rankly with modded servers?
Yes. Rankly works with modded DayZ servers. The mod tracks vanilla and modded weapons, items, and vehicles. Modded weapon class names will appear as-is in the kill feed and stats. Rankly maps known weapon classes to display names where possible.
If you encounter compatibility issues with a specific mod, contact support and we will investigate.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to your dashboard and navigate to Billing. Select the plan you want to upgrade to and confirm. Upgrades take effect immediately and you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing period.
Note: there is a 7-day cooldown between plan changes.
What happens when I cancel?
When you cancel your subscription, your server reverts to the Free tier at the end of your current billing period. Your data is retained, but features above the Free tier become unavailable. You do not receive a refund for the remaining time.
What about my players? The Free tier supports up to 20 tracked players. If your server has more than 20 players (which most servers will), here's what happens:
- All existing player data is kept — nothing is deleted
- Your leaderboard will display only the top 20 players by your chosen sort stat
- New events are still ingested and stored, but computed stats (leaderboard rankings, awards, achievements) will only process the most recent 20 active players
- Player profile pages for players outside the top 20 will show a message prompting the admin to upgrade
- If you re-subscribe, all historical data is immediately available again — no data is lost during the downgrade
You can re-subscribe at any time. Note that the 14-day free trial is a one-time offer and will not be available again.
How does the referral program work?
Share your unique referral link (found in the dashboard under Billing). When a referred admin signs up and upgrades to a paid plan, you receive a Stripe credit equal to one month of your current plan. The credit is applied to your next invoice.
You can earn a maximum of one credit per referred server. Self-referrals are not allowed.
Can players hide their profiles?
Player profile visibility is controlled by the server admin. Admins can configure whether player profiles are publicly visible or restricted. Individual players can request their data be removed by contacting the server admin or Rankly support.
What data does the mod collect?
The mod collects gameplay events including kills, deaths, connections, disconnections, item interactions, building, vehicles, medical actions, harvesting, crafting, and environmental exposure events. Each event includes the relevant player Steam IDs, timestamps, and event-specific data (weapon, distance, position, etc.).
No personal data beyond Steam ID and in-game display name is collected. The mod does not access files outside of DayZ or transmit any data other than gameplay events.
Is Rankly compatible with other mods?
Rankly is designed to be compatible with most DayZ mods. It uses standard DayZ scripting hooks and does not override core game functionality in a way that conflicts with other mods. The mod loads as a server-side mod (-servermod) so players do not need to install anything.
If you experience conflicts, check the RPT logs for errors mentioning "RanklyStats" and contact support with the details.
